The Department of Postgraduate and Specialization (DPE) of the CSIC organizes in June 2019 the I Conference of Doctoral Students of the CSIC. The objective of this conference is to provide the CSIC PhD students with transversal and complementary training in their studies and to guide them in their future professional career once they have finished their thesis.
The I Conference of Doctoral Students of the CSIC is divided in two parts. The first part, during the morning, the doctoral students will attend various lectures s given by professionals and experts from both, the academic and professional worlds.
The second part of the conference consisted of 3 practical workshops; Ethics in research, Curriculum and interviews and preparation of postdoctoral projects.
Who can sign up?
PhD Students of the CSIC who is doing his doctoral thesis in one of the following modalities
- State Competitive Calls (FPI, FPU)
- Competitive calls by Autonomic Institutions and Foundations
- Predoctoral Contracts through the CSIC Job Bank
- Other predoctoral contracts in relation to the CSIC

Travel Grants
Each travel grant will cover the amount of a round trip ticket on the most convenient form of transport for the beneficiary and the accomodation. In general, the travel aid will be granted with arrival and departure to Madrid. In any case, the maximum amount for help will be € 150,00. The total budget for the travel grant will be € 3.000,00 euros.
Procedure
The application will be processed through the Graduate and Specialization Department (DPE). The application period will open 1 month before the I PhD student’s day and will be resolved at least 15 days before the completion of that day.

- In what year are your predoctoral contract
- Distance to Madrid (weighted in kilometers)
- Invoice of the travel costs
For the collection of this grant, it will be necessary to submit an invoice of the amounts corresponding to the trips made and the accomodation.
